Water Festival
Since 2016, in partnership with PEPO (Public Education Participation and Outreach) workgroup and other local government agencies/non-profits in the Upper Arkansas Basin, the UAWCD has sponsored the Water Festival in downtown Salida. The family-focused festival includes exhibits, activities, and demonstrations related to various aspects of water use including agricultural, municipal, industrial, environmental and recreational uses. In 2018, in collaboration with the Foodshed Alliance Farmer's Markets, the Upper Ark Water Festival expanded to include both Salida and Buena Vista.
