Mr. French was born in Creede, CO but spent most of his upbringing at the Leadville National Fish Hatchery where his father was the long-time manager. Growing up outdoors, along with ranch work beginning at a very early age and his involvement at the hatchery, Mr. French has been surrounded by water his entire life. He received his B.S. in Fishery and Wildlife from Colorado State University, Fort Collins, was an Inspector for Chaffee County for 5 years, owned and operated an electrical business as a Master Electrician for 27 years, served on the Cotopaxi School Board for 12 years, as well as the board for the Fremont County Cattleman's Association. Mr. French lives in Howard, Colorado in western Fremont County where he owns a ranching property and its associated water rights. He has served on the UAWCD Board of Directors since 2001 and currently serves as Secretary.
