Jord Gertson
Hydrologist
In 2000, Mr. Gertson founded SourceWater Consulting with a focus on mine site watershed characterization, snow pack, water quality planning, and drinking water and wastewater compliance on privately owned and public systems. He began working with the UAWCD in 2007 as a consultant installing gaging systems at reservoirs and streams for remote monitoring and data acquisition, as well as working on other specialized projects until he became the District hydrologist in 2012 while continuing to manage SourceWater. Today, Mr. Gertson is responsible for managing all of the District’s reservoirs and other important infrastructure and manages the District’s augmentation replacements. Originally from Denver, Mr. Gertson moved to Chaffee County in 1979. He is a graduate of Buena Vista High and received his A.S. from Colorado Mountain College and his B.S. in Watershed Science from Colorado State University, Fort Collins.
