Helena Diversion Structure Improvement Project
In 2013, in partnership with Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the UAWCD rehabilitated the Helena Ditch diversion structure. The rehabilitation included reconstructing the headgate and bypass structures and widening the canal. The improvements created an integrated system that improve boater safety and the fishery, while at the same time enhancing the availability, efficiency, and sustainability of water for irrigation. The Helena Ditch will also play a vital role in the delivery of water for the Trout Creek Ranch Multi-Use Project in the future.
