Included within the territory of the Upper Arkansas Water Conservancy District is the northern part of the South Eastern Colorado Water Conservancy District. The two districts share a close working relationship. A major portion of water that serves the Upper Arkansas Water Activity Enterprises' augmentation plan comes from the Fryingpan Arkansas Project, delivered to the eastern slope of Colorado via the tunnels shown on the map presented. This water is commonly referred to as "Project Water". Approximately 65,000 acre feet is delivered annually to this basin. The Upper Arkansas Water Conservancy District owns storage space in Twin Lakes, Pueblo, and Turquoise Reservoirs.
